Nakama Sushi, near Coligny Beach in Hilton Head, is a great spot if you’re craving sushi or hibachi while on the island. We ordered a mix of sushi rolls and hibachi, and overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The sushi was clean and balanced—not overly dressed up, just solid, high-quality ingredients that tasted great. The hibachi was also satisfying, with tender meat, tasty fried rice, and well-cooked veggies. Everything came out hot and just as we ordered. Now, I’ll be honest—the portion sizes are on the smaller side, and the prices are a bit higher than what you'd find at other places offering similar dishes. So if you're looking for the best value, there might be other options around. But if you’re focused on quality and flavor, Nakama delivers. Here’s how I rate things: I don’t give 2, 3, or 4 stars. It’s either a 1 or a 5. You’re either worth coming back to, or you’re not. And even with the pricing and portion not being the strongest points, Nakama still earns a 5 in my book. The food tastes great, the location is convenient, and the staff is friendly—it checks the boxes that matter most. If you’re in the Coligny Beach area and have a craving for sushi or hibachi, Nakama is definitely a spot worth checking out.

I went here for my birthday lunch and it was absolutely amazing. They sung happy birthday and brought me ice cream. The waitress was extremely pleasant and made us feel welcome and at home. The sushi was absolutely divine

For a sushi restaurant that offers burgers and all you can eat sushi, we were pretty skeptical. But we needed a dinner late one night. It was actually really good sushi, and we tried the fruit sushi roll and it was unique and a healthier treat to end the meal. Waitress was responsive and helpful. All around good experience

This place is truly a diamond in the rough. Passed by here and saw the “all you can eat sushi” and decided to go one evening for dinner. We were a little skeptical but after reading countless reviews, and finding them remarkably positive, we decided to give this place a whirl. We went about 4:00pm and we were seated immediately. We ordered the all you can eat menu. They brought us a white slip of paper with all the options we could get. Not only is it all you can eat sushi but it’s appetizers, salads, sushi, and small entrees. There were two of us doing the deal. In total we ordered 2 appetizers and 9 sushi rolls. They were delicious, made to order, and very timely. Our waiter was extremely attentive of our needs. I will definitely be returning next time I am here. If you are a little skeptical about the all you can eat sushi here are some things to know: if you don’t finish a roll or anything you order (appetizer, salads, etc.) you will be charged for it, you CANNOT share with anyone not doing the all you can eat but are encouraged to share with those in your party doing the all you can eat, I would suggest you bring a friend with you to do the all you can eat together. I don’t think one person could be as successful. Overall we spent 80 for two people. We estimated over 100 in sushi/appetizers that we ate so we definitely got our moneys worth.

Stop by this place! Frankly, the food and service were much better than what we had next door at the Sandbar (which also wasn’t a terrible meal). We really enjoyed everything we got: tropical storm roll, miso, soup, edamame, and salmon nigiri, and hibachi steak. Especially enjoyed the flavor and vegetables in the hibachi. Our server was wonderful too. It was his first day and he did a great job answering our questions about the menu. He was so nice and also helped us get a substitution!

Alright so going in blind but a heavy critic of any restaurant I have to say this is probably the best sushi I have had in a long time. The Alaska roll, California roll, and Tigers eye roll were absolutely on point and well put together, the tiger roll was colorful and really caught the eye. The sauce was perfectly applied and portioned. They took a few minutes to get to our table for us to order but it was also super busy in the afternoon with people coming off the beach but as soon as they had our order we blinked and our sushi was on the table ready to go. I'd give this place 6/5 stars if I could and this is very rare praise from a very critical foodie like myself

I came for the all you can eat sushi for my second year in a row and was thoroughly impressed. The sushi is fresh and everything I had tasted great. The menu for the all you can eat was also huge and included appetizers, soups and salads, and smaller portions of teriyaki/ hibachi entrees along with dozens of sushi rolls. The all you can eat option is a great value if you come with an appetite. My waitress was very prompt and made sure I had a good experience.
